Farsighted (hyperopia)
Farsightedness or hyperopia is a common vision
problem affecting roughly a fourth of the
population. People who are farsighted can see
distant objects very well, but have difficulty
seeing objects that are up close. Patients with
farsightedness must exert extra focusing to see
at all distances without correction and work
harder to see when reading or looking at near
distance targets. Contact lenses are not widely
used for patients with farsightedness because
rigid lenses have been historically harder to fit
and traditional soft lenses have not provided
adequate oxygen due to the thickness of the
center of the farsighted lenses. Eyeglasses for
farsightedness are also thick in the center and
magnify the eye. Refractive surgery for
farsightedness may reduce or eliminate your need
for vision correction temporarily and may fall short over time.
The rigid optics of the SynergEyes® A lens
combined with the high oxygen transmission and
ease of fitting opens a whole new world of vision
correction for patients who struggle with the
limitation of eyeglasses and contact lenses for
farsightedness. The crisp clear vision provided
by the SynergEyes® A lens can provide freedom from
dependency on eyeglasses to relieve the eye
strain, headaches and blurred vision that comes
with the need to exert extra focusing with farsightedness.
If you are farsighted and want better eye health
and comfort than you have with traditional soft
contact lenses or want freedom from eyeglasses,
